The coat is made from the finest 32oz cavalry twill wool, woven and finished in Yorkshire. The cloth is available in four colours, scarlet, black, green and navy. Your own hunt collar and buttons can also be added, which you can supply yourself or we can source for you.

- One outer flap pocket.

- Two inside breast pockets

- Two large inside hare pockets.

- Storm throat tab.

The tweed that Alexander James sources for it’s jackets is all British made. Choose from the finest Scottish Cheviot wool to fine lightweight Yorkshire wool to give you a jacket that combines style with durablity.

The jacket is a two button cutaway, double vented with two slanted flap pockets. The cut of the jacket is very fitted and shorter in length than a regular hacking jacket.

The apron is expertly cut to a traditional pattern to ensure the perfect fit. To add the extra weight needed the apron is double interlined and then lined in heavy cotton which helps the garment to hang correctly.

Both garments are then finished with black habit buttons, the apron also having a tab and button to transform it to a skirt appearance when not on the saddle.

The cloth  predominantly used is the 32oz cavalry twill, available in navy and black. This fabric is perfect for side saddle habits, using it’s weight and durability to ensure you have many years of use. The cloth is also teflon coated to withstand the occasional shower you may find yourself in. To fully waterproof your habit Alexander James are now proud to offer a ’permatex’  membrane, which sits between the cloth and lining, keeping you 100% dry.

The cloth is available in green  or fawn heavyweight 100% wool keeper tweed. Sourced from Yorkshire from one of  the oldest woollen mills still weaving to time honoured methods. The cloth also comes with a teflon coating for added protection from the worst of the British weather.
