The Alexander James Picture of Elegance Championship

"Alexander James of Pendlebury, have very kindy agreed to sponsor the Side Saddle Championship at the Aintree National Show and this will be called 'The Alexander James Picture of Elegance Championship'.

The Overall Champion from all the classes will win a new Side Saddle Habit from Alexander James of Pendlebury! Not only will the winner have a new habit, but they will become the new face of this particular Habit range for Alexander James.

A photoshoot will take place at Aintree after the Championship and these photos will then be used to advertise the Alexander James Side Saddle range."

The Championship took place at the Aintree National Show on the 24th and 25th of August, and after some very tough decisions due to the very high standards on show, a Winner was finally picked.
Congratulations go to Morgan Schive from Kent who was the overall winner and not only won a brand new habit but will also attend the Grand National along with the Reserve Champion Jo Hales for a special prize:

“The prize of leading in the winner of next year’s Topham Chase on Ladies’ Day at The Grand National Festival is a unique opportunity for the side saddle ladies’ champion and reserve, taking on the role previously carried by mounted police officers, in front of the cameras of Channel 4 Racing.”

After the measurements were taken, Mark & Carl worked to complete the habit to a fitting stage standard.
Alan Little was then able to meet Morgan at the Blenheim Horse trials for her Fitting:

After the fitting, Alan was able to bring back the habit to our shop where Mark was able to put the finishing touches to the habit. Once complete Morgan was kind enough to send us some pictures of her new habit:

On Friday the 4th of April 2014, Morgan & Jo led the Winner of the Ladies Day race in to the winner circle! Here are some pictures from the day:

If you would like to be in Morgan's place next year, why not challenge her for the Picture of Elegance title in the Alexander James Picture of Elegance Championship 2014 which will be held at the Aintree National Show!
